Last Thursday, a large number of IBM volunteers came to Ada Lovelace to deliver a workshop to all Year 10 students. The subject was 'Lifelong Learning'. The workshop focussed on the importance of effective presentation and communication skills, and aimed to help students to understand positive nonverbal communication through awareness of proper body movements, posture, eye contact, appearance, voice and facial expressions.

The session was very engaging as students were asked to review videos demonstrating good and bad examples of non verbal communication. They were then invited to prepare and deliver a short presentation using everything they learnt in the workshop which their peers then critiqued at the end. We were proud of the way the students applied themselves to the challenge.

Students then logged in to IBM SkillsBuild to embark on the Lifelong Professional Skills badge.

We wish to thank IBM for delivering an inspiring session and for their energy, enthusiasm and support on the day.
