Our valued partner IBM joined us once again to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day this year. Lots of IBM volunteers kindly gave up their time to come and deliver an action packed schedule for all our lucky students. Year 7 took part in the always popular Agile Workshop which involved them making paper planes and seeing if they could fly them into a marked out landing area, making refinements as they learn along the way.
Older year groups logged on to IBM's digital learning platform SkillsBuild and worked their way through some digital badges which will be extremely impressive on their LinkedIn profiles and further education application form, when the time comes.
IBM also delivered a number of career panels where they spoke honestly about their route into IBM, the subjects they studied and their role in the business. It was so great to see our students inspired by what they had to say.
We were honoured to hear Isabella Rocha deliver a key note speech once to the Lower school and once to the Upper school about Creativity and Problem-Solving. She certainly inspired many and several students queued up after her talk to grab five minutes with her and ask her career advice.
Thank you Vikki and team for your wonderful support and enthusiastic presence.
