Today we were thrilled to welcome visitors from the Aerospace Careers Programme, who came in to share their expertise and inspire our students about the many exciting paths within the aerospace industry. Students discovered how virtual reality is transforming pilot training, explored what it takes to become a pilot, and learned about the technology behind flight simulators and the gaming industry. Our guests also opened our eyes to a wide range of aerospace careers beyond the cockpit, including psychologists who support crew health, medics specialising in aerospace medicine, and even space lawyers who help navigate the legal frontiers of outer space.
And of course, one of the biggest highlights was Spot the robot dog. The Boston Dynamics marvel captured everyone’s attention as he answered questions about data collection and his special operations missions. The presentations were highly engaging, with students getting fully involved in a variety of hands-on activities, sparking curiosity, creativity, and a real enthusiasm for the world of aerospace. It was an incredible opportunity to host the ACP and I hope that students from Ada Lovelace, Twyford and Ealing Fields left feeling inspired.
