3 of our Digital T Level students are currently undertaking their 6 week work placement with IBM. One of our students wrote an account on how the placement is going.
During the first fortnight of the placement, we were placed in groups and were given a task to create a website using HTML that we learnt from Code The Future. In-between coding, we would have different talks from professionals and interns from different sectors within IBM.
After the first fortnight of IBM, we were placed onto two further weeks on virtual learning where we were solidifying different coding languages and improving our application forms.
Now that we are back at IBM in person, we are working on a project which focuses on creating a website or app which supports early professionals to find a mentor. The first two days that we have been back we have been focusing on the design aspect and then onwards we will be focused on the coding part.
Work placements are the unique element that sets T Levels apart from A Levels. We have worked very hard to build a great relationship with IBM and our students are fortunate to have the opportunity to apply for a placement at IBM. This is an incredible opportunity for the students to gain confidence in the professional work environment and make connections for the future.
