On Tuesday 24th June, Ealing Music Service presented a special celebration of music in Ealing in their ‘Harmony in Diversity’ concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Students from the Trust performed in a number of parts of the concert:
Singers from Twyford and Ealing Fields sang in a massed choir of 1000 children, and took a leading role in the world premiere of ‘Ada in Ealing’, a new work by local composer Laura Rossi, with lyrics by children's author (and Questors theatre alumnus) Michael Rosen. Four students from Ada Lovelace acted as the Narrators in this work.
Additionally, the Samba Band from Ealing Fields, and a mixed Djembe group from Ada Lovelace and William Perkin performed in a special work called ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ by Stefan Defilet which included music from Senegal, India and Latin America.
There were also students from all four Trust schools performing as members of the Ealing Youth Orchestra and Cadenza Ensembles.
The concert was an incredible experience for all involved, with approximately 1400 school children from across the Borough involved.
